Re: Ampere Time LifePo4 12v 50ah batteries
The LiFePO4 cells you’re repurposing will not be able to supply the 500A you’re suggesting. You will damage them without protection. Do the individual cells have a part number in them? If so can you post it so that we can look the cells up and give you suggestions.
Given there are 4 cells in parallel in each 100Ah battery I would imaging each cell is only 25Ah and only able to supply 25A continuous as the original Renogy SMART LiFePO4 12v 100Ah battery can only supply 100A continuous. The current limitations are imposed to protect the cells. Cheers Pat |

I couldn’t find anything either so I certainly wouldn’t try to pull any more than 25A out of it without further info.

Re: Ampere Time LifePo4 12v 50ah batteries
So are there 4 cells in series making a single 12v 100Ah module or are these a 4S4P module to get 12V at 100Ah?
Before you get to that though you need to know what your cart really pulls. You can do a continuous data log and see what you have from max acceleration from a dead stop. My cart is completely different than your cart, but for reference with my lithium pack I can pull wheelies and that took 304 amps to do. 304 amps is the most I've seen on the few logs I've taken, my controller can pass 360 amps max. I've since turned the aggressiveness down because wheelies are uncomfortable so I don't hit that 304 amp draw anymore. You may find that if you turn your 500 amp controller down to 300 amps you'll won't notice a difference. You'll still need to figure out your battery situation but no matter how you measure it, 300 amps is easier to deal with than 500 amps. |

Looks to be 4s4p. Do we have 2 threads here on BGW discussing the same thing?
