Default Air Shocks on G9

Just wanted to share some information on how I added Air Shocks to my G9 in the rear.
I installed Monroe Max-Air 785. After reviewing the specs for so many shocks, these seemed like the perfect ones.
http://www.monroe.com/en-US/e-catalog/MA785

Here is what I got in the kit:

I had to remove part of the bushing and the metal pin to install on the cart. The opening on the cart is 1 and 1/4 inch top and bottom. I used a metal saw, took about 30 minutes to do all 8 cuts.

I then proceeded to remove the "trunk" or back cover over the engine, transmission, etc.
Jacked up the rear of the cart and proceeded to remove the 4 bolts (14mm).

Installed the new air shocks, inverting them to make the air connector accessible (L and R are identified on the shocks, installed the L on the right hand side when looking at the cart from the back and same with other side)

I hooked up the air line that was supplied in the kit.
Here is the T-Connector from both sides connecting to the air valve

Inflated the shocks at 75psi (Minimum is 20psi, max 150psi)
Here is the final result

With 2 adults in the front and 1 standing in the back, there is still a lot of clearance for the rear tires.
Rides pretty smooth, at least on gravel/sand roads at the camp site

You guys always get me thinking and spending $$$. Did you install and on board compressor or do you just air up as needed?

Right now, just air up as needed. Since it is being used on a campground, I don't think I will need to adjust the pressure on a regular basis.

Thanks for sharing the information. I recently had someone ask me which shocks to use and since I'm using air bags, I had no idea. The pictures and instructions are also helpful.

Have you tried them on the front? or just the back?

Very cool! I've seen others do this, glad you posted the actual part number. I'm sure that shock will work on a lot of different carts. Well done.

I like your work but I have to ask the obvious question. Without the coil over spring what happens to the rear of the cart if you lose air pressure.

I installed a take-off set of Harley touring air shocks, 13" (also available 12")
