Re: Get outta my dreams, and into my cart - MadAktion
Here’s a photo of where the positive end of the 3rd brake light is connected (just after the brake light switch). The instructions I received with the light didn’t work, so had to Use a multimeter to check for 12V when the brake lights are on, and a zero volts when lights are off (obviously). The neg is connected to the battery negative terminal. Hopefully this saves someone time in the future, because I couldn’t find this info when I was looking.

UPDATE: I discovered that you need to tap into the orange wire for the 3rd brake light, not the previously mentioned black wire. The orange wire takes into account the 30 timer switch. Sorry for the confusion.

The third brake light is completely installed and it Turned out better than I expected. The light shines down on the seats and really illuminates when braking.

I also tested out the two 6 LED pods I have zip tied to the cart. These suckers put out some serious light! I’m a little worried about the 20” light bar I picked up to go with them. It might be too much light for cruising around my neighborhood golf course, but it’ll make for a good conversation starter...
In the picture with the pods ON, you can see plants and trees that you otherwise didn’t know existed. Also, there is a much wider spectrum at the grass on both sides is illuminated. |

Re: Get outta my dreams, and into my cart - MadAktion
I was just reviewing the “batteries” sticky in the club car section of the forum. Since installing the voltage meter, I was disappointed to learn my golf cart’s range. Keep in mind, it’s very flat here in Florida. My voltage meter read exactly 50.9 at full charge before going out, then a buddy and I rode around at night with some stop and go and with lights on. We made it 11.5 miles at which point the meter read 48.9, or per the chart - 60% of battery remaining...so I guess that’s my range? I’d welcome anyone’s input on the topic...

Re: Get outta my dreams, and into my cart - MadAktion
That seems to be about right to me. I recall when I installed 8 new T-105's in my 48-V system that I did a test run on top of a mountain in State game lands. Now, the terrain was rolling to flat.....but no steep up or down hills. I got 12 miles from mine and the weather was mid 70's. When the temps drop in hunting season, the distance gets cut in half. (Temps in the 20's.)
That's my input. Others may have different responses. Dave |
