the 2 extra batteries do give you extended range from what I read and they fit nicely in the golf bag cutout in the rear..... drilled 4 holes for the cables.... eventually will do some sort of cover...

I like to do the mechanical first then go for cosmetics later :)

I always thought 8-6 volt batteries were fine. I thought you even get extended range compared to 6- 8 volt pack?

Love the Bentley carts :)

They were known as the mechanic's friend. I almost snagged one for $500 in a garage sale 20 years ago. By the time I did a U-turn someone beat me to it. Real nice cruiser bike.

UPDATE:

no joy yet....

Got the 4 cables from Scottyb... hooked everything up and just got a clunk when i hit the gas....

hhhmmmm, started going over the wiring diagram again...sent Scott a few questions.. he answered a few times and then stopped replying... in all fairness it was like 9pm ? :)

I got impatient... never do that :)

Tried a few things to no avail, then checked the motor connections... hand tight...

Got that all straightened out but still no joy, I think i hooked up the reverse connections to the controller wrong...

Hoping I didn't fry anything...

got more questions out to scottyb...

back from a garage test session....

Scottyb says no jumper and no connections to J1 blue or green for now..

still no joy.. aka no click. no motor move

what i just sent to scottyb...

ok no jumper..

nothing connected to J1 blue or green

no joy, hit gas and no click...

took out the multimeter...

I measure 50v at red side of keyswitch, turn the key and i get 50v on the other side...

checked at the junction where the keyswitch connects to yellow/red on the gas pedal... 50v

pulled sheathing at the base of the pedal, 50v on yellow and red...

push pedal down and i hear the micro switch click inside but no 50v at blue wire, no voltage at all...

am i looking for voltage or ohms ?

Actually both where very reliable :) even the 77 after i went thru it all with a stripped to the frame resto... only issue i ever head was crank pressure... not sure if there was supposed to be catch canister, but i fabbed one and fixed...

Oh and it was a 2 speed automatic... kinda funky... 2 speed tranny with a torque converter between the clutch and flywheel... after awhile i didn't bother with the clutch... rode it like a 1000cc moped :) that did 100mph lol

been in contact with Scottyb.... bottom line still not there yet....

Pedal Micro switch clicks but no power to blue output wire.... thinking we got a broken connection in the pedal... ug...

jumped it be sure and back to solenoid clicking but no led on the controller and no motor movement...

unfortunately life is in the way and not sure when i can get back to it.... ARGH!

might have to sneek out to the garage at 3am when everyone is sleeping :)

sssssshhhhhhh
