Buds is running 25 inch with a 15:1 gear, D&D motor with a Curtis 1268 2 speed controller. Have it set to top out at 27 in high and 17 in low. Has more of an off road type tread so puts a hurting on battery life.. He is not a small guy either ..

Re: Who else is running 28"-30" tires on a 48v cart?
Bringing this thread back to life I hope. I’ve got a 2017 TXT that’s been stretched and lifted. I’m running 28” tires with stock motor. I have a Navitas DC 600amp controller. I’m getting 28mph with just me and my fiancé, about 360lbs together. With fully loaded, close to 900lbs I was still getting 23mph flat and 15mph uphill 45°. It does take a while to get the tires spinning that fast. Looking into a new DC motor. So far I’ve got the Plumb Quick Barracuda in my sights but thought I’d check this thread and see if there are any other suggestions. I’m good with the speed, wouldn’t mind 35mph but it’s more a need for torque getting to speed, hauling my friends and going up the maybe 2 hills.
I live in Charleston SC and it’s VERY flat and I never off road it. Though the chunky tires… it might be nice to test it out one day. |
