Pinion disassembly, frame mount PDS
Ok, I'm going through the steering on my frame mount 2000 PDS. Center of the rack chewed pretty good. New rack/pinion kit in route.
But I'm at a loss on the pinion. I can't get it out. It acts like there's a snap ring or something in there, but I can't see anything with all the grease... (Really need a parts washer) Before I get on this with a pulling contraption, I wanted to ask for some advice on how to get it out. Anyone? Thanks!!! |

Re: Pinion disassembly, frame mount PDS
Sorry for multiple posts. I can't seem to attach more than one pic to a post. I also don't know why they randomly orient themselves...

Re: Pinion disassembly, frame mount PDS
This would explain the popping, slipping steering wheel...

How did you end up getting the pinion out?
