Ok, all of the F-R parts are discontinued for purchase new, so I have to find something used

On a positive note:

Got some decent progress made tonight

Here's what I started with

Here's that custom F-R work

IMG_1345[1].jpg

Dropped some batteries in and wired it up

Key on, switch in Forward, and it is rolling without input from the pedal. Stuck solenoid. Changed it out and I am up and running. This thing has some torque!

Got to throw a huge thank you to ScottyB. His care package provided me with a solenoid and battery cables. Thanks again Scotty

ALL RIGHT!!!!

How's the top end? I've never experienced one running well enough to know, the crappy one I've worked on had crappy batteries and crappy cables.

That's nice ! I have a 1972 Golfster and it was a lot of fun for many years. I let it sit outside for quite some time and finally brought it back inside. I put new body mount blocks on it, and built a new battery tray but stopped because of all my other project carts. All of the parts are still out there if you search around. I have seen most of them on eBay and through others. You can look on vintage golf cart parts as well. When I first was given mine it was nothing but a shell, wheels , motor. There was no batteries, wiring or anything else. Man you have me fired up now to work on it but I am waiting for weather to break so I can start with other carts.

Top end isn't bad. About the same as the 90 DS

Any chance you want to get rid of the F-R assembly?

Check out golfcardiscounters. They have a lot of the parts listed with pricing.

Finished it up today. The only problem I had was that the pedal motion was very choppy and it wouldn't return all the way, thus causing the cart to still creep forward or reverse, slowly. A little greese on the wiper arm pivot point and that is taken care of. All I have left to do is throw the roof on and most likely sell it. Too many projects right now, and as much as I loved working on this, I'm mainly a CC guy. But that doesn't mean that if a EZGO, Yamaha, or other cart rolls into the shop that I won't fix it
