Club Car wont move
I need someones help please. I have a 1990 Club Car when I step on the gas the small thin belt is spinning just fine the larger thicker belt doesnt want to grab or turn .... does it need a new belt? The belt doesnt have any damage at all it is in good shape. It does seem like it is stretched out or something. It isnt grabbing at all to spin. Any suggestions? |

Re: Club Car wont move
Is the small belt spinning the clutch to turn the engine over
or is it slipping and nothing else is moving? |

Re: Club Car wont move
sounds like the cart isn,t starting just turning over...........you need to find out why it won,t start..........and yes the clutch belt should be loose until motor starts and engine starts revving up.............................

Re: Club Car wont move
Another bad limiter causing the engine to quit or a no fuel situation perhaps ? You need to check for an ignition spark when it quits to eliminate that as a problem first. Grab a spare spark plug and pull off the plug cap when it quits. Put the spare in the cap and rest the threaded end against a good ground while you hit the gas pedal. If it sparks we can eliminate the ignition as a problem.

Re: Club Car wont move
Based on what you said in your first post and the other thread it sounds like a clutch problem.
The clutch on the motor, called the drive clutch should pinch the belt as you rev up the engine. The clutch on the rear transmission should be pinching when it's not moving then release as it spins up. Here is a video of mine. it's a carryall but the clutch operation is the same, just easier to see :) First I show the drive clutch pinching the belt up higher then the driven clutch letting the belt go lower then the drive clutch again because I was apparently feeling redundant |

Re: Club Car wont move
it sounds from your 2nd post that your cart is stalling out as your driving and than won,t start again..............................
