Calling Scotty or Roady...HELP !!!
Ive posted some pics. of the pot box, My question is,there are (2) pairs of wires from it, brown & blue in one and brown & blue in the other. The controller in the other pic only has (3) spade connectors, can you advise on this ? Thanks AGAIN ! Mike

Re: Calling Scotty or Roady...HELP !!!
1 pair is the solenoid micro activation switch and the other is the throttle control wires. Get out your volt meter and find the activation wires and the other set will be the throttle.
I'm not sure but I think the first terminal is the "power" terminal and the other 2 are throttle. I have looked and looked for a diagram for that but can't find a match. |

Re: Calling Scotty or Roady...HELP !!!
Roady, that is the same pot we took apart today....There are only three terminals inside...I remember the tech at logisystems telling me you need a 3rd wire for 5k-0 which when i questioned him about it he said it was basivcally a ground..... Back to the 4 wires? Maybe one pr is 0-5K and the other is 5K-0 ? Only a voltmeter will tell.... here are some pics of the one I took apart today.

Re: Calling Scotty or Roady...HELP !!!
catracer, Can you set your volt meter to 20K (like mine in the first pic). And plug the two ends into either pair fo leads? Note the reading and then watch the read-out as you operate the pot...... then do it to the other!

Re: Calling Scotty or Roady...HELP !!!
The pot you have is a Chinese knock-off of the rather expensive Curtis...I got mine for under $90 delivered. A Curtis lists for about $170. It looks like it will function and I am putting mine in one of my previous 48v conversions.

Re: Calling Scotty or Roady...HELP !!!
OK - I remember calling Nivel about this same pot box one time. If the Sparkie God's don't have this answered by tonite, I'll run this by my mechanic tomorrow.
FYI - Voltmeter is required Question - What are we building here? That doesn't look like a stock setup... |

Re: Calling Scotty or Roady...HELP !!!
Cat Racer...A voltmeter is gonna be the best way to tell right now. I beleive scotty is correct, thats a 3 wire pot. It will work but you may need to open it up and do some minor wiring. The input on the controller will only have 2 wires.
The microswitch is a whole other deal. That looks fine. |
