Re: My Official '97 CC DS Build Thread
There must be a number of dealers in your area that customize carts and have a supply of removed parts. There does not seem to be a big market for removed parts, so they go to the dump. Saw an add a few weeks ago for used bodies @ $75.00 ea, or all of them for $25.00 each. The front end that I used for practice painting was in a pick truck box on its way to the dump. The complete body was in a pile of 10 or 12. One pile of fronts, one pile of rears. I sorted through all to get my set and stacked the rest up for their trip to the dump.
I would think that shipping from Canada would be prohibitive. |

Re: My Official '97 CC DS Build Thread
Thanks SeaStar, found a local delar who is going to help me out. Seems like a real nice guy, and I am looking forward to learning from him.
Question: Has anybody ordered a carbon fiber dash from e-bay? How is the quality/functionality? |

Re: My Official '97 CC DS Build Thread
Oh, and update on the build.
I am FINALLY picking up the cart on wed. So this weekend I will begin taking it apart and cleaning. When I have the body pieces off, I will take them to get painted. I am thinking black... Any thoughts? Also will be ordering the dash, volt meter, arm rest pads, and seat covers. From a local dealer, I will be getting a roof and mounts, front body piece, bag rack, steering wheel, and a rear bumper. I will again take pics when it is apart, and yet again of all the pieces when they arrive. |

Just remember, when you take the wires off your motor, use 2 wrenches. One in back to hold the stud from spinning and one to take the nut off!

X2. And take pics of anything electrical before you start pulling wires off. Learn from my mistake. I paid the "stupid tax" for that. Goog luck.

Re: My Official '97 CC DS Build Thread
Ok Guys, picked up the cart, and have some immediate questions...
I stopped by a local shop on the way home, and they tested the system for me, as there are no batteries in currently. With power, nothing happened. Then they bypassed the solenoid somehow and the tire spun. So I am guessing I just need to buy a new solenoid? Or is there something else that could be wrong? (wiring to solenoid, some microswithes somewhere, etc) |

Re: My Official '97 CC DS Build Thread
Today I got a few things for my cart. Will take pics tomorrow of the parts accumulating.
Front body piece Rear body piece Steering wheel Rear bumper 2 stock rims/tires HD solenoid On my way, still a lot to get/do! Have a guy comming this weekend to give me a paint estimate. Was going to do myself, but figured this is too important to the overall look of the cart, and would be happier with a good job than saving on this step. I am trying to stay around 1000-1200 total on this cart. If you look at the first pics, you will see why this might be a stretch... |
