Default Got the Umaxx...build thread.

Picked up the 2005 Yamaha Umaxx yesterday. $400 bucks, the motor is seized, the guy said his kids ran it out or oil and it locked up. Overall, this thing looks like it has had a pretty easy life. I haven't dug around it much, but I can't find any rust at all. I'm going to start working on this thing a little at a time.

1. Figure out how to lift it. I haven't done a lot of research on this cart, so if anyone knows of a lift or has any ideas let me know.

2. Build a better cargo bed.

3. A new camo paint job, or some sort of bedliner.

4. Of course new wheels and tires.

5. Either with income tax or bonus money after the first of the year it will have one of the big block kits in it.

I'm going to need a ton information on this thing guys so don't be afraid to tell many anything that ya'll think would help.

I like the way you think - I dream of a big block often. Great buy on the max! I wanted to ask what type of bed upgrade you got in mind? and why? Not being a critic, just curious.

I used an All Sports on mine and had to do some minor "fitments", mainly the rear torsion bar. If I had to do again I would look harder at the Jakes. At the time they didn't have one for it but I think they do now.....

Not exactly sure on the type of bed I will put on it. The stock bed is pretty small and the inside is in sort of a bowl shape. I think I can fab something else up that will have a little more function.

I'll look into the Jake's lifts.

To tell the truth, I haven't even looked at what size tires and wheels are on it. They won't cut it for what I have in mind though.
