Default Reverse buzzer switch

I wasn't sure where to post this but here goes...
Would there be any adverse effects to putting a simple switch on the reverse buzzer? I use mine alot to move trailers around and it would be great to not have to listen to the buzzer going off when hooking up to the trailers but not cut it off all together. When the family is out on it around crowds and all I like giving people a little warning that I'm backing up.

I think that would work just fine, should be no problem.

Here's a thought. You could use a 3 position rocker switch to alternate between 36v - off- 12v operation. This would give LOUD - off - soft warning.

Thanks y'all. I have a gas cart or the 3 position switch would be an awesome idea. I am planning to work on it this weekend and will hopefully tell you that it works great!

I did this on my 94 ds gas cart

I put a switch in between the hot wire(you can do either one doesn't matter) and use a single throw switch to turn it on or off.

I did this on mine because I wanted to keep it for when I take the cart to events and it being street legal it helps if I am at a local store to alert others that I am going to be backing up(also tapped this curcuit for my back up lights)

awesome idea. I hadn't thought about putting reverse lights on it. I have a switch in my truck to turn on the reverse lights/aux lights for working at night, I may do something similar on the cart.

Scotty, could you show me an example of the three Way rocker switch and how to wire it up for this procedure? I love the idea of being able to turn off or turn down the buzzer. Seems like I need about 15 rocker switches for all of the accessories that I want to put on my cart!
