![]() Hey Gang....any help will be appreciated. Trying to wire lights for Halloween on my Yam 16e. I followed the diagram for the 55watt lights and it's just not working. Had electrician at work test the toggle switch and he claims it good. Thought it might be the light or bulbs, so I took off one light and wired it directly to my battery (hot to +, neg to -) and the light works. If I try to ground to anything but the battery, it doesn't work. Diagram says to ground to anything metal. I did a simple test and ran the light to the hot and the ground through a home light switch to the battery negative and everything works.
So the jury is out on the illuminated switch that came with the lights. Is there anything wrong with grounding both lights back to battery? I can't think of anything, but I know is not the normal thing to do when adding accessories. Thanks... |

![]() I've read in a few places that you have to ground most carts back to the battery, as they dont seem to ground the chassis.
There should be no problem grounding back to the battery, but make sure you have fuses in your system to be safe. Good Luck! DK |

![]() Thanks for the tip. I'll ground everything back to the battery.
Edit: Have lights, will Trick-or-Treat! |

![]() That's the way I'm running all my lights, however I'm using LED for everything but headlights. The current draw is less and it keeps voltage balanced across the battery grid. It works for me.
