IMG_20130918_172301_241.jpg 6, 8volt Us batts photo 2 (2).JPG led running/flood lights photo 1 (1)headlights.JPG head light kit installed not pictured yet black rubber "diamond plate " floor material black diamond plate access cover, kickplate, and rocker panels, fender flares, coming in next day or 2 , pkg "485" from scotty: 5oo spm Alltrax controller, Super duty solonoid, super duty reverse contact kit, 2 ga. cable set, DPI 48V charger week or 2 hopefully sooner 23" itp wheel /rim set, and allsport long-travel lift, the real reason for my post is, what would you suggest I do for installing ?strip everything out, document every move etc, then install new stuff, or one unit at a time, ie , remove old controller, replace with new one, same with solonoid etc.? old batts and cables are already out obviously. a lot of you guys have done multiple builds, this is my first, I know you learn tricks/ tips every time you do something, so wanting some sage advice to help mine go smoothly, I really appreciate the time you "regulars " give to this site, I have already learned a lot and have been helped by a few of you already, THANKS IN ADVANCE!! |

Re: Christmas in Sept.
Congratulations! It was fun to come home each day and find a new package from ScottyB for my big upgrade.
I did my features little by little, up until my upgrade. Since I went from six 6 volt batteries to eight, the rest was more or less all at once, by necessity. I relocated my controller and solenoid over my motor. Here's a kinda day to day (month to month) of my upgrade: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...-question.html |

Re: Christmas in Sept.
Kewl!! My opinion, since you are pulling the rockers anyway, take off the rear body. Will make things much easier to get to.

Re: Christmas in Sept.
Every build is different. Believe it or not, I started with the very first thread on this site and read each and every post.
You can use the Advanced Search and look for things like "build", "upgrade", etc. A lot of threads have good descriptions, such as "My xx Build or Upgrade". Browse through the Subjects, and you'll find tons. Your build will take some time, so any time you're resting, or at a frustrating dead-end, read. I'm sure a lot of folks came her to get help on their build, then quit visiting the site after they were done. |
