Default Got the bug, what’s next?

03 DS, good batteries. I previously swapped my stock motor out for a PQ bandit. Then I put a 400 amp rebuilt Curtis on it. Today I made some 2gauge cables through. Next on the list is a heavy duty f/r switch and a bigger solenoid. My cart has the stock 18” tires on it, does about 20mph. Not sure what I want to do for a motor. Would a stock 36v motor be better than my bandit? I’m torn between ds and plumb quick. A guy near me has a dd 170-011-0002 for sale which looks to be a torque upgrade. Anyone else in the same boat? Looking for 25+ mph on 20” tires

That is listed as a speed motor with 15% less torque so if you want to go faster this might work

PQ makes a great line of high speed series motors....

Yeah I must have read it wrong. It’s less than a year old, never used. Not sure what to offer since the warranty is gone. Any guesses?

Maybe you need a bigger controller ?

My cart is otherwise bone stock and will go 27mph @ 6000rpm on the 500a Alltrax and stock CC motor.

Motor has a 1 year warranty based on when it was shipped but I think it has a date code on it. Sells new for $380 new based on their website

I can get the 170-011-0002 for $300 local, think it’s a decent price? Will my stock Curtis controller upgraded to 400 amps be able to handle it?

I think the biggest limiting factor is the Curtis controller and the fact you cant tune or change anything in it.
My bone stock 250a Curtis controller (speed code 4) and stock sepex motor ran just as fast on stock tires.

Change to a 500a Alltrax controller and be done screwing around with the Curtis.

My cart goes 27mph on stock motor and tires with the Alltrax.

On a series cart? I have 2 gauge, does about 20. How would the alltrax gain me more speed if it’s not changing the voltage? I never really looked into controller theory before. I thought on a series cart the only way to get speed was motor or gears, or tires?
