Thanks for starting a new thread re lithium power, I am interested in purchasing
12 v 50 ah "drop in" batteries at $550 a piece, will this work or do I have to have a custom conversion done? The only info I have seen is SMART POWER out of Florida offering sets of four batteries with charger at a cost of $3-5 K. Any advice would be appreciated. '95 Yamaha 48 v, parked in shed at golf course only used for golfing, no on road driving would like range of 5-10 miles. Thanks!

So these are 12v 50ah lithium batteries for 550 each battery. And you need 4 of them at $2200 ?. Is this right

Yes, I have a 48v Yamaha so I assume that I would need to hook them up in series as the FLA batteries were

I am new here, but i am going through the moves now on alibaba,so far i have narrowed it down to a 48 volt 150amp lithium phosphate, plus a fast charger to allow me to fully recharge in 4-5 hrs.I"ll keep you posted on price freight etc.

so please help me understand, you only want a 10 mi . range just for golf and its going to cost $3 to $5 thousand for batteries plus a charger cost to be determined,, why? at that rate you can replace lead batt,s 4 times at maybe 5 yr,s use each time so 20 years worth of batteries,, as i said i don,t understand i,m surely missing something
