Default Re: coasting backwards while in Forward. now won't go

In reference to the rolling backwards not generating any current...

That statement may not be entirely accurate. There is sometimes residual magnetism formed in some of the magnetic materials inside of an induction AC or SepEx DC motor, caused by the electrical currents in the windings when it was running. This will create voltages in the windings, which when applied to components connected to those windings can create a small current. Once that current begins to flow, it induces a stronger magnetic field. Current rises rapidly, which rapidly turns that motor into a generator. It can and will burn out components once it reaches that stage. This is why it is not wise to push or tow a cart unless it is in tow mode or neutral. Rolling one down a hill or incline is the same as pushing or towing...

Bob this cart is neither AC or sepex. Can any of that apply here?
