Re: Westinghouse: Resurrection
Got batteries! For the camera...
Axle, pillow block bearings and hubs. The old axle bolts down onto the swing arm/battery tray, I got the pillow blocks for the same bolt hole spacing so there won't be a lot of trying to figure out where to weld supports. Still hunting for the donor motorcycle/ATV, but it is too hot to be outside, I had to drink 5 beers just to rehydrate after taking these pics!! |

Re: Westinghouse: Resurrection
I was just thinking, if I'm not restoring this to its original glory, where should I be posting??? Things are going to get pretty different around this one!

I'm not calling it a ride until it has at least 3 tires, a motor and a seat!

Re: Westinghouse: Resurrection
As you can see from the above pics, I finally got off my butt! Only 85 out this afternoon, so I grabbed a cold one and a can of PB Blaster! Got held up by the rusted shocks, but Mr. Dremel took care of those pesky buggers. Then really got hit by some good rusted in axle bolts, show stopper for today until I get a impact wrench and some more energy. Buying the engine tonight then the CVT and drive sprocket next week. Got to drink another cold one an spend some bucks!

Re: Westinghouse: Resurrection
My luck is always so off!! Just got off the phone with a man who has a project motorcycle that is exactly what I was looking for. VFR 750F with 8,000 miles and leaking carbs! The price is way too good to pass up! So this thread has become a modification vs restoration.
I knew something would happen as soon as I bought the parts to use a clone motor!!! |
