Voltage Reducer
I have a 07 CC and have instealled a extra 12 volt battery just for my radio and lights. If i wanted to use a 48 volt to 12 volt reducer instead. Would that be to much draw for the reducer to handle? I will also be installing a horn. I have the LED lights under the bottom hooked to one of the kart batterys. dealer said it was not enough draw with the LED lights to hurt. the kart has 4 12 volt batterys. Thanks

Re: Voltage Reducer
With 4 12s I would just tap to one of them for your accessories. I did that with 2 6s on my 36 volt cart for years. The only reason to use a reducer is if you use your radio and lights a lot. You could draw a lot more out of that one battery than the others and reduce the life a little. In that case you can use a reducer. They cost anywhere from $50 to $120 Dollars plus install if you can't do it yourself. That way you will draw off all 4 batteries equally.

Re: Voltage Reducer
Thanks for the info! We use the radio every time we are in the kart. I was just thinking about the reducer so i can take the extra battery out. Less weight to carry around. Thanks again guys! Have a great week.

Re: Voltage Reducer
Using just 1 battery for the load is not a good idea. Go to the Trojan web site and they explain it very well there. The 12 volt batteries seemed like a good idea in the beginning for Club Car, but the battery life has been dismal....
