Default Suddenly no reverse

Hey all, suddenly my cc 98 da won’t go in reverse. Has been working fine for months with my new set up. Have a alltrax Sr48500 controller, Scotty b hd solenoid and f n r switch set up as well. Checked all cables and they look good. Is it possible the microswitch for the fnr is bad? What can I do

If the microswitch on the F&R was bad, it wouldn't run in forward. The anti-arcing micro switch doesn't know which position the switch is in. If the solenoid is clicking when you press the pedal, the micro switch is working. However, it is possible that the half speed resistor may have failed. Reverse the black and white wires on the rear micro switch on the F&R and see if the symptoms are reversed. If the car will now run in reverse, but not forward, the resistor has failed. If the symptoms are the same, the switch itself is melted.

So the f n r is not all or none i presume? I’ll check now with your test. Thanks!

Contacts are burnt on the switch. If it's not on the back, it's on the front. Take it off and you'll see where the plastic has gotten hot and pooled up, causing the copper contacts to sink down into the switch.
