Re: 86 club car engine help please
if it has the orginal engine its the KF-82 flathead which as far as i,m concerned is a good engine but its very hard to find some of the parts for it.......if you want to swap with a newer fe-290 you also need a retro fit kit whick adds 3 to 4 hundred to the project...........if its a good running engine you have now and you take care of it should last you for many years..................................

Re: 86 club car engine help please
Hello all,
Brand new here. I am in the same boat. I just inherited an 86 Ds. No owners manual. The previous owner told me he robbed the fuel pump for another cart. Everywhere I look they only offer fuel pumps for 87 and up. If I knew which engine it has I could figure out which fuel pump would work. It has the engine with the shroud that says club car on the side. Is this the flat head. Thanks for any help. |

Re: 86 club car engine help please
the 87 fuel pump should work, it mounts on the side of gas tank, or you could go with a small 12 volt elec fuelpump , lots of people use them however i don,t like them...........................yours will be a vaccume pump with 3 hoses coming off it.......................................
