88 ezgo gas starter/generator stuck in starter mode
Just got top end rebuilt and put all back together. The starter/generator seems to be stuck in starter mode.... do i have it wired wrong, or a wire in the wrong place, is the switch down under driver that hooks to throttle cable that starts it bad????? I have kinda when over a wire diagram and seem to think everything is right but not sure.. Anyone have same problem ever????

did it work ok before the rebuild? If so I would look at the wiring and make sure it matches with the manual there are several under the tech thread above.

Re: 88 ezgo gas starter/generator stuck in starter mode
Yes it did not charge befor tear down.... I got in pieces and put together..so i had wiring diagram and pretty sure its good. Just wondering bout the throttle switch... If you put the gas pedal all the way down should it start or do you have to hold down an inch or so to let the started roll motor over to fire it up... If i hold mine all the way down ( its starts hard right after fresh rebuild ) the generator/starter will just keep tring to roll motor over...
Switch ????? solenoid ????? Starter/Generator ???? Which one or where do i start? |

Humm well take your pick! I know on a 96 I'm working on I have to some times step real hard and fast on the pedal then let of and then it will turn over and start. But on yours I'd start at the S/G maybe pull the brushes and make sure they are clean and not wore out.
