stereo question
ok so i just bought a stereo to put in the cart and i read on other posts on how to hook it up (neg and poss) my question is about the other wires where do they go??? here is how the diagram is listed
(blue) power ant (blue/white) remote turn on (pink/black) audio interrupt in (orange) illumination i feel like a tool cause i hooked up plenty of stereos in cars but im just uncertain on what to do with those wires....any help please......... |

blue/wht turns on amp etc pink/blk kills sound from hands free cell phone hookup orange hooks to dimmer to adjust intensity of display |

ok well the pink/black and the orange where do i hook them to? or do i just leave them alone? i just dont want to mess anything up

I believe you want to leave the pink/black unhooked and hook the orange to power. If you hook the dimmer to the power line as well you should have 3 lines going to positive battery terminal: Power to run stereo, dimmer, and power line for radio memory.

oh one more i didnt see this anywhere would it be safe to run the red wire to the on/off switch or just run it straight to the battery?

If red is the power wire I would run it through to the battery, but you probably could take it to the switch. If you plan on installing many more accessories I would think about running a positive and negative from the battery to a distribution block in the dash so you can run a radio, 12v power socket, etc and you only have o pull the power wire once.

I run the main pwr wire to a switch when i do radio installs. The memory wire is hooked up all the time. I switch the power wire so the customer can cut off the radio with minimal drain on the battery.
