Upgrading an older EZ 36 v
to 48v, just with a battery
change & charger ??

This makes things simpler,
(If it works out)

Yeah, I did that too, on a stock 36v Ezgo controller. It ran great for about a month. Then it got so lazy, it couldn't climb the one inch sidewalk in my yard, took about a mile to get up to speed. Controller was history.

Also, there is a good chance that when it fails, it will blow the cap off the end of the controller, and that will get your attention...

Yea
Kinda figured something will give out.

36 v cart going to
42 volts is a reasonable stretch
48v seems like a bridge too far.
( just batts & Charger)

I only tried it because I already had a Alltrax laying around for when the inevitable happened.

Also remember if you are tempting fate the failure will come at the least convenient moment. As in when you are furthest from home, just getting dark, in the rain, half way across the train tracks.

True satement.
I let him know the possible consequences.

He’s a gambler,
betting he’ll be ... in the dark
With train coming, a long way from home
When I get the call

Nope. He'll be out of cell range.

Can you do just the batteries and charger if your controller and motor are both 36/48 Volts?
