Default G1 exhaust valve

Hey everyone, i was wondering if anyone had some tips and pointers regarding the exhaust butterfly on the g1 two stokes.

Im having issues trying to get some of the retaining clips to hold one of the linkages that control the valve (not the ones on the end of the rods, but on the rod that goes across the fan intake, and was wondering if this valve is really nessisary?

part #28 i cant get no longer, before i try and mock something up, is the valve really nessisary?. Because other two strokes dont have them., and the valve looks like a power robber to me.

Ive read around and all ive heard about them is that they help keep noise down at low rpm's. but if thats all it does, im tempted to take it out

The exhaust valve works "partially" closed at "low" RPM to give alittle more "back pressure" for more torque. At "WOT" it should be adjusted completely open. Can't beleive you can't find the "clips", I have many in stock. Good luck Dave

Great thanks!

Seeing that you can still get the clips, ill have to call my supplier and see whats up. I think i had the wrong part number though off by 1#.

The right # was 90464-07034-00
