Default 1988 CC Voltage Regulator Problem

I have a 1998 gas cub car which I have done up. It was going very well for about 2 months when a cell in the battery collapsed. I was able to get a new battery under warranty. Once again after about 2 months the battery failed again. After research on this site and others I found that I my Voltage Regulator wasn't working. Pumping 19.13 volts into the battery, thus frying the battery. I have now replaced the battery and fitted a new Voltage Regulator. Still getting 17.80 volts pumping into the battery. After more research found that the Voltage Regulator is adjustable. I tried to adjust if but nothing changes. Still getting 17.80 volts. I had a spare Starter/Generator so I swapped them over. Same story 17.80 volts. What else can I check or replace the solve this problem?

If the adjustment screw is not adjusting the voltage output you have a bad regulator.... Not unheard of to get a failed part when purchased brand new, but not likely. What brand regulator did you get? I know some Hitachi look a likes are not adjustable although they have the screw.

1988 or 1998 Club Car? The thread title says 1988 and your post says 1998.

Sorry, Its a 1988.
Rodriguez, it does not have a brand name on it. I live in Australia and had to order from the US as I could not find any here so I bought it from eBay. Can you recommend a supplier for one as a lot of places in the US do not ship electronics to Australia. Cheers

Try cartparts plus... Don't know if they ship to Australia.
