Default 2002 cc DS IQ 48V Troubleshooting

I was riding home in my 2002 DS IQ last night when all of a sudden it lost most of its power. I turned off the lights and limped home at about 4 mph. When I got home I measured the batteries which read 49.5 volts so the problem doesn't appear to be batteries. Earlier in the day, I noticed that when I used my turn signals, the lights flashed ok but the indicators on the handle box no longer blinked. Also, I wanted to remove the backup alarm, (so I could back out of the garage without my wife hearing me) so I pulled open the dash panel enough to get some pliers in to pull the wire off the buzzer. I think when I did that I might have damaged something behind the dash panel because it is really wedged in there tight. Anyway, I'm looking for any troubleshooting suggestions. This may have happened to someone else before.

Thanks, Bill Foley The Villages, FL

Bill from the little description you have, it sounds like your speed sensor failed and you went into limp mode. Just release the brake pedal and push the cart forwards or backwards. If it does not have resistance against the push and start beeping, then it has failed. If it does have resistance to the movement and beeps, then we will have to look elsewhere. (If you damaged anything while behind the dash it should have been apparent immediately.)
