Most carts if you turn the governor all the way up and hit 4K rpm that is usually 16-20mph. If you put a clone in it will go the same speed....unless you get HD springs for it that are about $20 and use a free flow muffler of some kind you might get 4mph more or so with no governor. You can do a lot of other mods too, but HS gears will add about 10mph and with a clone it will have no problem getting up to speed. Then you would run around 30mph give or take. Many carts will fit 20 inch lawn or road tires, anything not atv style, and give you a bit more than 18 tires. I put HS gears in a CC and ran 28 on gps hitting the rev limiter, all stock other than me turning up the governor. I forget but think it did 19 before the gears.

It will rev out 42-4500 rpm and the stock valves will start to float. At this point if you run it hard there comes the possibility of dropping a valve. It's just the way there built.

6mph I would guess a major engine issue or the clutch is not shifting. But '93 it could be that tired you know. Mine needed a rebuild and I put a clone in, its cheaper and more power.

I took the stock clone springs off by hand, getting the HD ones on was a little harder.

It might be that tired, most all carts are about 9hp stock some newer ones up to 12 range. If you ever ran a 10hp lawnmower you know what you have just higher gearing at speed. Stock carts usually go 12mph, without governor 18-20 maybe it depends, a G1 would go near 30 because that 2 stroke would rev but most 4 strokes are similar they all have near same gearing and rpm range. Most run 4-4500 rpm no governor about 11:1 overall gearing with an 18 tire you can put it in a gearing calc and it will tell you.
