Default 89' G2 compression test DIY

Ron or Dave; Whats happenin' guys!! Messin' around with my yammy and figured what the hay? might as well check the compression. Is there a certain way to check cart 4 stroke compression?i know how on a small block but a friend of mine told me that it would be diff. on my cart.Could one of u guys point me in the right direction? (step by step) Thanks guys!!Hope y'all have a good weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Howdy Bubba......There are 2 things I recommend. #1-make shure it is at "wide open throttle". #2-Make shure you "ground" that spark plug good, if not, could damage your ignitor. With a good battery, at wide open throttle, you should be at 160 to 175 compression. Later Dave

Thanks Dave!!!!!!!Worked out good! Running about 145-150 compression. I dont think thats bad for a 20+ year old cart, Do u? Gotta run! Got some cartin' to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
