building my own lift for my G1
So im gonna build my own lift for my G1 (im sure thats a suprise because the title didnt say anything like that). I was wondering what material i should use? i was more wanting a material list as in what thickness steel i should use (i was thinking 1/8") and what width and how much length i would need? Im gonna do a 3-4" lift (depending on tire fittment). also anything i need to watch for on the G1 when i do the lift? Also i have read that people move the G1 front wheels forward when they lift. Is this for more tire clearance or just looks or ride quality? Thanks in advance for the info and of course i will post pics when i get going

Re: building my own lift for my G1
I built a drop bracket out of 3/8 plate and .120 wall 1.5 in. tube struts to tie it to the frame, but my project is a little different. This was all fabricated from mild steel. A good plan before you start fabrication is the best path. Look at manufactured lift kits for other carts, pickups, etc. for ideas.
