Default 24volt motor wanted

need an 24volt el motor with both end bearings and a exposed shaft for a pulley
2 hp or more hopefully
figured here is a likely place t find such

why el sail boat motor has a bad 10 hp inboard now

odd question
if I use a 36v cart motor [far more common and eazy to get]
will it run on 24v slower ? like half speed/power ? or it that a bad idea ?
plan is only short burst use like docking or bridge transit
where to get a end cap and bearing as most GC motors lack the end on one side

Couple questions.

Are you planning to do away with what I am assuming is a 10 hp diesel inboard, and connect a 24 volt motor to the propshaft?

How big is this boat? Weight of the keel?

I have seen 48v and above kits with gear reduction for this application.

I would be concerned with your setup not being in the correct torque range, and being dangerously under powered for what you are trying to do. The pitch of the prop, the mass of the vessel, along with tide, currents, wind etc. will determine what is needed to move the boat, and move it fast enough to be safe.

I would factor in the above before attempting what you are doing. You will have nothing close to the torque and speed of that diesel engine, if it will move the boat at all.

Just my 2 cents.

I'm not trying to discourage you, but it would be a shame to put forth a lot of effort and money into something that may not (I think won't) work.
