Coincidence
Not sure if this is a coincidence or what. Just installed a 6" lift kit and 22x11-10 tires on my 2004 Club Car DS IQ 48V. Test drove it. Fine for 5 minutes. Now when I step on accelerator, I hear the relay click and no movement until half way down on accelerator then the cart starts to "buck" real bad. Same in reverse. Back up alarm does sound. Accelerator pushed all the way down eventually causes cart to move. Cart worked perfect before lift kit mod. Any suggestions?

Re: Coincidence
I would start with cable connections. "Bucking" is usually a low power problem. In doing the lift you would have moved the motor & axle down and away from the batteries a bit. May have disturbed a so-so connection in the cabling to the motor. As always be cautious and use two wrenches on any of the connections at the motor.

Re: Coincidence
Check the F1/F2 connections at the controller and be sure they did not pull loose. Then check the linkage between the pedal and the MCOR.
Outside of that, it is then probably the potentiometer in your MCOR has failed. You can try the old "30 pumps of the pedal to the floor w/key off" and then see if it is better. |

Re: Coincidence
Ok. Will check. Thanks. Could a bad solenoid cause same symptoms?

Re: Coincidence
I responded to the email you sent me. I'm assuming that was you. I think your motor has failed. Let me know what you find based on what I told you in the email.

Re: Coincidence
Poor connection is possible.
Sounds to me like worn out brushes in the motor. |
