Modifying 72v Express L6 Controller

Hello,

Based on the feedback of many people on this incredibly informative forum, I have decided to purchase a 72v Express L6 sometime soon. That said, I have a couple reservations:

-

• It sounds like people are unanimously disappointed with the speed that you can get from the "stock" configuration. I'm looking for sustained, good torque, anda top speed of 20-25 mph max
• I have spoken via email with the very impressive BobBoyce, and it sounds like he is able to (via laptop programming) upgrade this stock controller to something that enables more speed and adjusts the torque/accel as needed, BUT...
• I live just outside Minneapolis. If Bob were closer, I'd go see him in an instant, but he's 800 miles away.
• If I do buy thid cart, it seems like it only makes sense if I'm also going to have the controller tweaked. Is there any way to do this besides Bob? Again - if Bob were a bit closer, I'd have no issue. He seems like an amazing wealth of knowledge and I think what he charges to do this programming is very fair

My ultimate question: Is there another way to tweak this controller to get more performance/is there someone closer to me who can do it OR do I need to either A) Buy the cart from a dealer down by him and tow it home, or B) make the 1600 mile road trip - which has a cost of itself that I need to consider.
