Re: G1 Thread: Everything About G1's for Newbies
Moderators, is there a way I can clean up this thread? It seems to get a lot of views and I'd like to go through it and remove some of the non-essential posts.
Thanks Slo |

Re: G1 Thread: Everything About G1's for Newbies
Not sure if I am posting this question to the right forum or not? But I have a 1982 Yamaha G1 Cart with a noise and was hoping that someone might be able to help me determine exactly what is causing it?
The noise is a "Clanging sound" when I am accelerating or give it some gas. I suspect it might be the clutch or maybe the belts? It seems to run alright... Hesitates when I am trying to accelerate but does start and run. I am in the process of trying to fix it up and would appreciate any help in this venture. Thanks in advance |

Does anyone have blueprints on a rear lift kit for a g1?

Re: G1 Thread: Everything About G1's for Newbies
I assume you are looking to fabricate your own lift kit?
I don't have "blueprints" but here are some photos of what I made years ago to match an atv front suspension. Basically just some angle steel, and square tube built to accept the use of atv shocks for a 6" lift. |

Re: G1 Thread: Everything About G1's for Newbies
I would like to share some pics of how I keep my old small carb ball joints and other carb and exhaust linkages from popping off and stay on the sockets. I use small zip ties which works very well. Sometimes I use them in a criss-cross pattern. It works very well and helps you from loosing parts accidentally if one pops off. I try different sizes to see which work the best without binding. I will post some pics.
I bet I am not the first person to do this but I am just sharing what I do on My G1 in a few threads here on the G1s for Newbies. I like to keep things as stock as I can on my 1982 G1. I also found some of the plastic ball joints on Amazon for a EZGO that are suppose to work but they are 30 dollars for 10 each. I am going to purchase some later this year and see if they actually work but I was wondering if anyone else here had tried them. Here is the link. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TXUWLLE...v_ov_lig_dp_it Thanks and I hope this post helps someone and I appreciate all those who post things here that have helped me over the past 15 years.
