Buzzer Half Volume in Forward
14 Precedent
Navitas AC Conversion with Curtis Allbright Solenoid FNR switch in Neutral - No Buzzer FNR switch in Foward @ Rest - No Buzzer FNR switch in Forward with Pedal pressed - Cart moves forward FNR switch in Forward After Pedal released - Cart Stopped Buzzer Half Volume FNR switch in Neutral solenoid closes and buzzer goes off. FNR switch in Reverse - Buzzer full volume & moves when pedal pressed The carts moves and operates fine. Its just that the buzzer is on but quiet when in forward after the pedal is activated and released. The dealer app doesnt allow me to power the buzzer off on the ac controller like it would the dc controller. Any idea guys? |

Re: Buzzer Half Volume in Forward
Not sure about the Navitas but the buzzer in the dc version is powered by the run tow circuit and grounded by the controller. If it is buzzing you either have a bad fnr switch or controller.

Re: Buzzer Half Volume in Forward
I wish I could post video, however while the cart is in forward and the buzzer is buzzing. I can remove one leg of the diode and the buzzer stops. The diode stripe is on the same side as the positive & No stripe on the negative. Should I just run it without the diode?

The FNR switch is just an ON-OFF-ON switch with no diodes. The diodes on the solenoid should have the stripe end connected to the + terminals. |

Re: Buzzer Half Volume in Forward
The diode is on the solenoid. When i press the pedal and release it the buzzer has 14v in forward and the buzzer sounds. While in forward i can remove one leg of the diode from the solenoid and the buzzer stops. I have replaced the diode with a new one and i have the same problem. This is a new Curtis Albright solenoid.

Re: Buzzer Half Volume in Forward
Two things, make sure the pink wire for the Tow/Run power is coming off the battery side big post on the Solenoid (only the cable to the controller on the other side).
Make sure only the pack positive and pack negative battery posts have any extra wires, all other battery posts should only have the interconnecting cables. |

Re: Buzzer Half Volume in Forward
Spoke with Navitas and they recommend not using a resistor or diode with ac & shunt set ups, Only with series. Forgot my buddy has the ac kit and I asked him, He said he had the same problem and navitas told him a year ago the same thing. weird. I've always ran them, but this is my first ac conversion.

Re: Buzzer Half Volume in Forward
They tell you to remove and discard the pre-charge resistor in their installation instructions, but not using a fly-back diode on the Solenoid does not make much sense.
