Default axe4855 form my old cart into new one

my old cart is a 1990 marathon. new cart is a 1999 txt series setup. i have 8 volt batteries so no combo of them could equal 36 volts so i had to swap my axe4855 into the txt before i could test it, since it did not come with batteries. What do i have to do to make the controller use the ITS. i cant even get the light on the controller to come on without bypassing the key switch. when it does come on it blinks red 3 or so times and the solenoid clicks instantly. Is the axe4855 plug and play with ITS or is there some special crap i gotta do?

You can program it with free software and a cheap usb-to-serial adapter cable (about $12). Used to be available at radio shack (may still be). Also on ebay. Instructions and free software are available at www.alltraxinc.com . You will love a axe500 on 48v!

Change the throttle input from 0-5k (Marathon) to ITS Ezgo (TXT) in the program.
