Got my butt kicked by rxv today
Anybody have a rxv motor almost die it seems like the speed sensor but i have no clue about the motors setup and dont have a hand held. The motor was the problem just wondering if others r having this problem or if i am just a lucky guy. It made a grinding sound under load it was not a good sound

yea that is what i am finding out. also the last thing i changed out cause havent heard of troubles.but it is something in the motor ezgo said they would swap it out so all good but wow my first major problem.

Just curious. Do RXVs really have speed sensors? If so, why? Aren't they AC VFD powered?

Never mind. It's probably a nanny-state speed limiter function.
Do RXVs do regen? |

didnt get programer but did figure out it is a bearing encoder rxv version of a speed sensor

All modern carts have a speed sensor (or encoder, or whatever they wish to call it). The only difference in a speed sensor and an encoder is that the encoder also tells the controller what direction it is spinning. Even if the speed sensor were not used to enforce speed limitations, it also protects from users who would like to find out what might happen to their motor at 11,000 rpm while speeding down a hill.
