Default Accelerating Problem

I have a club cart precedent, 2006,48v with 4ea 12v batteries

what would cause this......I have my foot on the accelerator, everything is running normal, then all of sudden the cart loses power. I pump the accelerator and speed picks back up for a few feet and then loses power again, this time the battery light flashes...I pump accelerator and picks up speed for a few feet and then loses power...this happens about 6 times...then all is running normal and the cart gets a surge of speed for a few feet then back to normal

I took the cables off the motor and cleaned the terminals thinking it has a bad connection..

need help figuring out what is causing the loss of power and the surge????

here is some information:

the cart doesnt always do this, just sometimes

seems to happen more often if i have the accelerator pressed half-way...the cart will come to a complete stop as long as the accelerator is pressed half-way, after it stops i will press the accelerator all the way down and the cart will regain its power

if i am riding with the accelerator pressed all the way down this doesnt happen, just half-way

anyone have any solutions to fix this problem?

Possibly a speed sensor problem.
Do a speed sensor test found above in the stickies...

Almost forgot, Welcome to the forum!

Yeah sounds like what mine did when the speed sensor went out.
