where ARE the exploded views?
No, not talking pyrotechnics. I can't find any assembly drawings for EZ-Go (or Club Car, for that matter). Wouldn't these be the 2nd-most-commonly-referred-to drawings in doing work on these machines (next to the electrical schematics/diagrams, which are posted all over the place?...)
Without mechanical drawings and the part numbers/descriptions that emerge from them, I could spend all day looking from dealer website to dealer website to see who's got what I need, calling them to ask, and perhaps having to order from several suppliers to get everything...surely this isn't what everyone does, right? --Dave |

Re: where ARE the exploded views?
what year/model cart do you have? look at the top of this forum for diagrams in the stickies. (the last one). look in there, especially bennetts carts. someone here can help you find most anything if you ask.

Service Manual is the only thing I know of. You will probably have to buy one but worth the money if you are going to keep the cart and do most of the repair/maintenance yourself. I have one for my Marathon and it is very helpful.

Re: where ARE the exploded views?
Jim,
It's an '86, steel body (36V Marathon, they tell me... what's left that isn't flakes of rust). Some kind of radical cosmetic rework may be in the offing. Mechanically, well, it seems to be pretty solid in terms of suspension & bearings/brakes. Def needs new shackle/spring bushings...torn steering-rack boot... I wasn't the first guy to do some welding to repair these battery-frames, but now I'm thinking I should solicit opinions on battery-swapping, etc - since it was fitted with the original resistor controller & I plan to refit with a fairly basic solid-state setup, and I'm not yet committed to any particular battery config. Minimally, I think I would want to centralize them as part of reworking the frames, but there's probably more to consider there. Let me know if there are any "wish I'd known that before I..." items coming at me. JohnnyB - The Canadian parts site (Bennett's Carts) indeed has pdfs of parts lists up the wazoo, and probably service manuals, too. I'm the type to look at the service manual only after I screw things up based on common sense, though - very happy to just have some exploded views in hand so as to know what's inside. |

Something to remember is that E-Z-GO wasn't into re-inventing wheels and mousetraps, so the used the same design or similar designs over and over. So you can often find good info/drawings in manuals for carts with different names and model numbers as well as different years. |
