FSIP speed motor install TXT48
We had such good results with the Club Car speed motor from FSIP we decided to try the Ezgo version. I'm told it is mostly the same motor with a different shaft. We expect similar results
The test cart is a 2011 TXT48 with a XCT400 controller Sw180 200a solenoid and stock size tires and motor. |

Re: FSIP speed motor install TXT48
Here we are unboxing the motor. It is very well packaged. Double boxed Injection foam packed wow - I'm impressed.
First thing to catch my eye is the brush cover release. Changing brushes will not require motor disassembly when the time comes to put new ones in. Next I see the motor studs are female not male. Which is great because this means no more busted off studs in brutal shipping... oh yeah They also supply terminal boots, cute. But I see all the terminal studs are the same size That will require some extra work. And the pigtail is a 3 pin Deutsche - The TXT is pretty unique... with it's flat 3 pin connector. So some more work there |

Re: FSIP speed motor install TXT48
Removing the old motor was simple -
1. remove the cargo box. 2. flip the run/tow switch 3. disconnect battery main (+) 4. take before pics so we know where the wires went ! 5. remove the motor bolts. 6. spin the motor for easy access to the terminal bolts. 7. cut speed sensor wire 8. remove motor |

Re: FSIP speed motor install TXT48
Prep for install included cutting the Deutche connector off and soldering the 3 wires to the pigtail we removed from the TXT motor. Two of the three color wires are the same as OEM. Splice (solder) like color wires together and then solder the 2 dissimilar color wires left together.....use heat shrink
Remove the shaft bumper from the old motor and insert into the new motor. Ezgo Specific. Mark the motor bolt holes on the case. This will help line stuff up On the Club Car we had to change out the F wire terminals to accommodate the bigger bolts. But the TXT48 has a lot of meat aroung the hole in the F1 and F2 terminals. So I'm going to hold the terminal with a pliers and drill it out one step on my conical bit. Don't try to hold this terminal by hand for drilling - you will get hurt |

Re: FSIP speed motor install TXT48
Slipped the motor in and located the correct position to line up all three motor bolts... then remove the motor bolt and turn the motor for easy access to the wire terminals. Note the FSIP motor labeling is reversed the OEM layout so rebend the wires and get 2 started then torque em down - then turn the motor and do the other side... Now - line up and install the motor bolts. Torque them down a bit but HEY! remember they are grade 2 size 1/4" so do not go nuts and strip them out or break them off. All the do is keep the motor from falling off - there is no real strain on them - got it? Good.
Put a zip tie on the sensor wire to keep it out of trouble and call it done |

Re: FSIP speed motor install TXT48
Install is complete. The cart runs forward and back. Will confer with techs at Alltrax about maps and program particulars then, give you guys a driver's review and GPS reports. My copilot is serious about this one

Re: FSIP speed motor install TXT48
They do. They think a lot of their motors. I spent a year trying to talk them down We hit a compromise and they helped me acquire a couple for testing. I sent a sample to Alltrax for mapping. Alltrax was impressed which is good considering they cost more than Admiral. Anyway Long story shortened. I can't afford to buy all 6 or 8 to test but I can get you any one you like ...... here, have a look at these specs
