Default 14" SS Mags/Tires - Deal or No Deal?

Hi Guys,

Stumbled across these for sale online locally. Guy wants $350 (Canadian) for them and states in the ad that "they are a steal at this price". He had had them on his '13 Precedent. They are 14" SS Mags with what look to be low profile turf tires. Thinking they might look good on my 06 Precedent. A. Is it a decent deal? B. Would I need a lift kit or would they look weird give that they are low profile. C. Do thy make bigger tires for this size mag? Thoughts?

I won't reveal dealer cost but I will tell you that price is less. Then it would cost me to buy.

Default 14" SS Mags/Tires - Deal or No Deal?

I believe the general rule is anything over 20” total wheel diameter will rub without a slight lift. I used a 1” lift block in the front and longer rear shackles on my DS when adding 14” wheels with low pro tires. It also depends on the tire width and wheel offset.

I say it’s a good deal, but you might have to put in a little more $ to get them to fit without rubbing.

If it’s less than 500 US dollars than you are getting a deal. Not sure the conversion rate.

Is there a cart that actually provides a “smooth” ride...?

That said I recently drove a new 2018 Precedent that has 4 wheel independant suspension that rode smoother than any cart I ever rode.

Its not the cart but rather the super low profile of the tires, which requires a lot of air pressure so you don't break the rim if you hit anything. I tried a set of 30 profile and thhey rode like a solid tire, I finally went to a 50 series tire and got a lot smoother ride, almost as good as stock tires

Yeah, I'm not super crazy about the low profile tire but I do like the mags. Maybe worthwhile slapping some meatier all terrain tires on them? I'm going to throw him an offer of $300 and see what happens.

Those wheels are my most popular ones. I put them on most of the cars I build. Not sure how good of a deal this is though because I don't know the conversion rate.
