1999 Carryall solenoid wiring
Does the solenoid need a ground connection to the metal base to operate correctly?

Yes it does just run a jumper wire with a good ring connector under one of the mounting bolts to a ground on the frame. I use a central ground point down near the black box and another under the dash so I don't ever wonder if I got a good ground. I occasionally have electrical issue but its never about a ground LOL

Thank you. I found it hard to believe there was no connection there and no ground wire anywhere close. I'll add one as you have suggested.
