GPS for speed and miles traveled ?
I've been thinking about how to keep track of how many miles I travel with my cart , and it would be nice to know speed sometimes, I'll mainly be using mine offroad on my hunting lease, I know I could use my phone for speed estimates, and probably for miles as well, but would like to have something I could use on the cart and sometimes on my atv as well, without worrying about damaging my phone, so I'm wanting portable and battery powered, I'm sure someone has done something like this , prefer cheap to reasonable priced as its not something I have to have,, just another toy I'd like to have ,,,

Re: GPS for speed and miles traveled ?
Get a Garmin off of Craigslist. Reset it each time and it will record miles for trip and MPH.

Yes there are things like Garmin hand helds or watches that will do the job (at a price) or a bicycle computer something like this...

Re: GPS for speed and miles traveled ?
Yea I have a Magellan that's mounted on a car style mount in my boat I use strictly for speed readings. It also fits perfectly in the carts cup holder where I can see the speed amd track my trails.

Re: GPS for speed and miles traveled ?
I can find a couple year old Garmin on CL with lifetime maps for $50-$60 all day long
Got one in the truck, in the car and on the Precedent. Plus one in my desk drawer as a back up. Heck the car and truck both have factory nav, but I still find the Garmin units better. |
