1998 - G16 valve adjustment specs
Does anyone know what the valve specs are for a G16 engine. Looking to adjust my valves, but do not have the specs. Thanks everyone.

Seems to be the standard valve clearance no matter the make for these little engines

You can also go to Yamaha's website and get all the spec's and a parts breakdown of your cart. Just choose your year and model and look at the owner's manual or the parts manual.

Thanks everyone. My valves sound a little noisy. Not sure if this normal or not. It runs great and does not smoke or anything like that. Seems like this is not a hard thing to do.

Re: 1998 - G16 valve adjustment specs
It's very simple. Just make sure your at top dead center before adjusting. I usually take a screwdriver and put down the spark plug hole and when it has reached its highest point, I know it is top dead center. Just be careful not to let it get sideways a bit and end up scoring the cylinder wall. Hold it straight up with one hand while you turn the clutch with the other.

Does it matter if it is the compression stroke or exhaust? |

Re: 1998 - G16 valve adjustment specs
Compression stroke, ether thumb over spark plug hole while turning crank or watch intake valve close as piston comes up. At the top of that stroke, is TDC. Adjust valves with piston in that position, .004 feeler gage snug, draging it between rocker and valve stem. You'll get some power if they are off even a few thousands, and a quiet running motor!!
