88 G1 smoking
Got my starter rebuilt today so I took it to the golf course. About 1/2 way there(1/3 of a mile or so) I look behind me and there is a small trail of blue/white smoke. Not alot, I have seen alot more from carts, but is this normal? I see
right below the bottom of the exhaust manifold looks like a small leak, but the smoke is coming from the muffler. Also after letting off of the accelerator it backfired a few times and when I accelerated it kinda surged a few times as well. Too rich fuel, not enough air? Any input is appreciated. Thanks JBDiNos |

Re: 88 G1 smoking
It may be getting too much oil in the mixture. Just a thought...

Re: 88 G1 smoking
I belive if those G1 oil injection pumps fail they fail wide open... I don't know if there is an adjustment or not. A full synthetic pre-mix will allow you to run a little leaner oil/gas ratio and perhaps gain some power. I use Silkolene and have excellent results.

Re: 88 G1 smoking
Keep in mind that a small amount of smoke is normal for 2 stroke engines.
