Fuel pump issue
I have a '88 columbia par car
We had an issue last night where the cart would run for a bout1/8th mile then seemed to run out of gas. We let it sit for a few muinites (checked for spark checked the plug ect) Then it started and ran for about the same distance. My question is; It looks like the pump is serviceable but I can't find a kit. Is there a chance that it can just need cleaning? If its too far gone Could I just use a cheaper club car style pump? It looks like the operating principals are all the same (vac. operated?) Thanks, Ken / |

Re: Fuel pump issue
It could possibly be cleaned...my concern would be tearing a gasket or diaphragm and not being able to get it back together. Check your fuel filter to see if its clogged a little. You could also use a low pressure electric pump. I don't see why a Cub car fuel filter wont work either, any vacuum operated fuel pump should work. A lawn tractor pump could work too.

Re: Fuel pump issue
Thanks. I found the problem this morning. We had two other people in the back, there was a rubber fuel line that ran between the body and frame that was getting pinched. Line re routed did 2 laps with no problems
