Default Help decide.

Looking at getting my 76 year old dad a cart.
Found 2015 rxv for 4200 or a 2016 txt for same price. Both are 48v and about the same feature except txt has aluminum wheels.. which is better and why?

I like the txt because it is not as picky as the RXV. At least that is what I have heard. May be wrong but I used this when I bought mine.

I only have experience with gas carts. That being said I am very happy about my preference when I see thread posts about the RXV electric models. Too complicated for me.

The TXT is essentially the same cart as when it first appeared in 1996. Proven design. The RXV first appeared in 2008 and shares almost nothing with the TXT. If you plan to maintain/repair it the TXT is more conventional.
RXV is significantly more powerful (AC motor). Will hold its speed much better on inclines.
IMO the RXV is easier to drive. Braking system is different. Brake pedal feels like power brakes and because it slows by regen you mostly don't have to use the brake pedal.
RXV has an automatic parking brake. I have grown to love this feature. RXV will not roll away and will stop and hold its position even if you fall off.

I have one of each. I prefer the RXV.

The RXV drives much better and has a higher value.

For me, the TXT is easier to work on or upgrade later on.

I have a 2015 rxv and really like it. I have done some things to it myself like add a light kit, rear seat, and battery meter. I am going to do the 4 12volt to 6 8volt battery conversion one day soon. I have a feeling down the road when the cart gets older I will wish I had a txt when it comes to repairs.
