Re: Help w/ High Speed Motor for 93 CC Series
D377 motor will give up to 18mph with you stock set up in good condition.
Converting to ESC and 48v the same motor will give 22 mph MPH estimates on stock size tires with batteries in excellent condition. Motor list price is $600, but many shops like CU sell for $400 plus shipping. ESC = electronic speed control |

Re: Help w/ High Speed Motor for 93 CC Series
scotty do you think its going to have resistor trouble by putting a high speed motor in it? me i wouldn,t do it i would convert from resistor to controller 1st than worry about a motor............but if your gonna you might want to stock a few resistor coils in case they start melting..............................

Re: Help w/ High Speed Motor for 93 CC Series
Thanks for the reply ScottyB.
As for Shadowman: I am hoping this does not happen but the only reason I am thinking about it that this cart is only used on flat, paved roads in a closed neighborhood. My daughter drives it back and forth to her friends houses. Right now it only does between 10 - 12 mph and I am trying to give her just a few more mph's. Thanks again I enjoy reading you fellas advice on so many things. P.S. I will get a few extra resistor coils. Any advice on those? Wig |

Re: Help w/ High Speed Motor for 93 CC Series
My experience leads me to conclude there is little that can be done to safely add speed to a resistor cart besides making sure the cables through out the cart are fresh with clean connections and the batteries are premium and fully charged.
Keep it safe for your kids... don't try to boost a resistor cart imho. |

Re: Help w/ High Speed Motor for 93 CC Series
Thanks guys.
Gonna start with some new batteries. Just figured out that mine were manufactured May 2002!!! That alone might speed the thing up just a bit. But, will be looking to upgrade to a solid state controller before attempting any performance mods. Any ideas on controller? You guys have been a huge help. Keep up the good work. Wig |

Re: Help w/ High Speed Motor for 93 CC Series
You will need a throttle conversion and a potentiometer and a controller and HD solenoid.... Make or buy a complete cable set and your cart will be modernized. Then you can choose a 4-500 amp controller pkg and/or speed motor.

Re: Help w/ High Speed Motor for 93 CC Series
I have an 89 CC DS r36V resistor cart. I did the PQ bandit upgrade for $250 including shipping. 4G cables I made myself and its lifted with 23" wheels. It has been driven 5-10 miles a day with top speed of 22 mph. I've had no problems (so far).
Scotty, I might be looking to modernize mostly to get more run time/distance so I thin my only choice now is get away from the resistors. I looked at the drawings in the stickies and see that there is a 36V CC setup (89-03') that uses some sort of Vglide with a controller. Would that be the easiest way to go (least amount of modifiaction)? Last edited by Grinch; 12-29-2011 at 09:49 AM.. Reason: spelling |
