No worries buddy. I haven’t seen one in person but figured it was a precedent so it had to be screwy

I don't think using aluminum is a good idea! suspension parts should be steel.

Factory parts look to be aluminum. This is 6061 aircraft grade aluminum, stronger than that junk steel @ Home Depot.

The control arms on my truck are made of aluminum......

I made some shackles in high school metal shop about that long for my 40 ford 2dr, to drop the backend. Back then (1956) I had 6" Detroit News cans on the exhaust and when I turned a corner on a gravel road they would kick up rocks. We called our cars "Shackled" My dad couldn't believe it when he first seen it. Then one day he borrowed it to go to the bar when my mother had the car. I'll never forget him bouncing down the gravel road in front of our house as he was leaving... He was a good dad.

A quick google search shows:

"6061-T6 will not rust and does not need to be painted. ... 6061-T6 weighs almost 2/3 LESS than mild steel. Mild steel is slightly harder than 6061-T6, but the aluminum's ability to flex under impact actually results in superior performance under impact loading."

These shackles should work just fine.
