6 - 8 volt batteries installed in 36 volt golf cart
unknowingly 6 8 volt batteries were installed in a 36 volt golf cart...what will be the consequences if any ???

Depends on the controller and solenoid. If the solenoid has a 36V coil, it won't live very long. If the max voltage rating for the controller is 36V, it won't live long either.
Put a 48V compatible solenoid and controller in it and it'll have 33% more speed and torque than it would have at 36V. |

You will need a 48v charger also if you keep the batteries in it.
